Gmail For iOS Gets Smoother Animations

Google has just released a minor update for the Gmail app for iPhone and iPad.

Google says that the animations and scrolling should be smoother on the iPhone and iPod touch with the update.

The updated version of the Gmail app finally allows you to save pictures attachments to your iOS device's camera roll.

Here's what's new in version 1.3:

Smoother animation and scrolling on iPhone and iPod touch.
Save picture attachments to your photo library. Touch and hold an image to save it.
Bug Fixes
You can update the app via the Updates tab in the App Store app on your iOS device or download it using this App Store link.

Unfortunately, there is still no news about support for multiple accounts, which has been one of the major deal-breakers.

Google had recently acquired Sparrow - a popular email client for Mac and iOS. It remains to be seen when we'll see influence on the design of the Gmail app from the Sparrow team.
