Ever since Apple launched the iPad in 2010, there have been rumors that Apple will launch a smaller and cheaper version of their tablet – unofficially dubbed iPad mini.
The chatter has gotten a little louder ever since Amazon launched their Android-based tablet – Kindle Fire and it comes as no surprise that the launch of Nexus 7 last week has sparked these speculations again.
Unwired (via MyDrivers) reports that according to analysts, Apple will launch a smaller tablet for $249-$299.
This is not the first time we're hearing that price range. Back in April, a report had claimed that Apple will launch a smaller and cheaper iPad mini in the third quarter of this year in that same price range.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball, who has a good track record when it comes to Apple related news, added yet more weight to the rumors claiming that Apple does have a 7.85-inch iPad in their labs during his Talk Show podcast with Dan Benjamin.
