Samsung's plea to lift the ban on sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 handed over by a California court has been rejected, making things even worse for an already troubled Samsung.
A week ago, US District judge Lucy Koh granted Apple's request to halt sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 based on the infringement of a design related patent. Just days later, the same court issued a ruling barring the sales of the Galaxy Nexus in the US.
That's three blows to Samsung within a week, as Reuters notes.
Samsung still has some hope left though. The company's appealed to a federal court in Washington DC which has the last say in all intellectual property disputes.
Samsung's response to this decision, as given to Reuters:
"Samsung is disappointed with the court's decision that denied our motion to stay. We believe today's ruling will ultimately reduce the availability of superior technological features to consumers in the United States."
Apple meanwhile sent the same response that they've been (re)using since these patent wars started:
"This kind of blatant copying is wrong and, as we've said many times before, we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas."
Apple's success in the courts irked some Android fans pretty hard, so much so that they made "BoycottApple" trend on Google+ and some went as far as posting images of iPads with cat poop on it.
Samsung most likely though, won't be very badly hit by these injunctions since both these products are now relatively old in the market, and have been succeeded by more more capable ones.
